There is no such thing

as a great winemaker,

only good winemakers that have great fruit.

We are interested in places.

Composed of Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Veeder and Malbec from Oak Knoll, EIDOS is the evolving interplay of these two locations

As both we and the vines continue to grow and evolve, our collective experience of every year is unique. We endeavor to find and capture the personality and interaction of our vineyards that each season brings, sharing with others the fantastic experience we are so fortunate to live.

The Grapes of Wrath

The Grapes of Wrath sits within a cool pocket at the intersection of Montgomery and Dry Creeks, half-way between Oakville and the peak of Mount Veeder. Composed of light, sandy soils washed off the surrounding hillsides, the character of the site is lifted and aromatic, with high-energy acid and tannins.

The vineyards were named in homage to two John Steinbeck novels that moved August for their poignant depictions of the human condition and the struggles of the common man. The names for each site reflect themes from the novels: the Mount Veeder property includes multiple homes that provide affordable housing for vineyard workers and others in the wine industry, while Tortilla Flat, located in the Oak Knoll District on the valley floor, serves as a venue for frequent gatherings marked by friendship, loyalty and appreciation.

Tortilla Flat

Tortilla Flat lies at the interface of the mouth of Dry Creek and the Napa Valley basin, north of the city of Napa. The cool fog that blankets the valley floor each morning combined with fine, heavy soils imbue the Malbec with freshness, density and texture.
